SEMINARIO | JACK, UN’ESTATE A MILANO: SILVIA DE LAUDE IN CONVERSATION WITH DANIELE BALICCO, ARTURO MAZZARELLA ED EMANUELE TREVI
IUNO continues its investigation on writing, hosting the presentation of Jack, un’estate a Milano: an essay and diary in which Silvia de Laude weaves together different critical forms and registers, from scholarly essay to autofiction.
It is summer in Milan, and to overcome loneliness and keep herself company, the author summons Giacomo Leopardi in Giorgio Manganelli’s version, Michele Mari, Walter Siti, Cesare Garboli and Alessandro Zaccuri, the East Indian Monarch, Tardegardo, and Count Rossi (Jack) to talk about the poet and translator Pietro Tripodo. There is life - her own - intertwined with the lives of others, and a whole world finds its place there: her friends and teachers, whom she indirectly recounts under the guise of talking about Jack.
Daniele Balicco, researcher in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, University of Roma Tre, Arturo Mazzarella, Professor of Comparative Literature, University of Roma Tre, and writer Emanuele Trevi, Premio Strega 2021 will discuss the book with the author Silvia De Laude.

Silvia De Laude is a philologist, she taught at the University of Milan Bicocca and the University of Geneva. She is a member of the editorial staff of “Rivista di Engramma” and a member of the scientific committee of the “Annali della Fondazione Gramsci” and of the Giuliano Scabia Foundation in Florence. among other things, she edited the edition of the discourse Del romanzo storico e, in genere, de’ componimenti misti di storia e d’invenzione for the “Edizione Nazionale ed Europea delle Opere di Alessandro Manzoni” (2000) and, with Walter Siti, the edition of Pasolini's complete works for the Mondadori “Meridiani” (1998-2003). She also wrote I due Pasolini. «Ragazzi di vita» prima della censura, Carocci 2018 and La rondine di Pasolini, Mimesis 2028. She curated the exhibition Pasolini. Hypotheses of Representation (Rome, 2022) with Marco Delogu and Andrea Cortellessa. Her latest book is Jack, a summer in Milan, Ronzani Editori, Milan 2024.
