LAB | ANDREA MARTINUCCI: LA MEMORIA DELLE COSE

The Memory of Things, the workshop conceived by Andrea Martinucci for IUNO, wishes to reflect on themes such as personal memory, loss and the perception of time, as tools not only for observing reality but also for processing unconscious content.
Alternating between techniques of analytical description and extemporaneous recording of emotions, memories or sensations, the workshop activities propose new ways of reflecting on daily experienced objects to reveal their evocative potential. Invested with a particular sentimental value or casually surviving discard, they are indeed testimonies as much material as they are existential: describing and reasoning about the values attributed to them is tantamount to transcending their use in order to recover their emotional and psychological components.
Starting with the selection of a few personal objects, each participant is invited to tell his or her story in a new way, giving space to the dimension of memory and the unconscious, constructing a personal narrative released from the methods of a canonical presentation.
Proceeding from the general to the particular, from the objective to the subjective, Andrea Martinucci's workshop thus aims to develop a reflection around the passing of time, its perception and the connection that objects take on with it, through an exercise of dialogue and shared reading, within a space of listening and mutual trust.
