ALESSANDRA SPRANZI: LA DIMENSIONE DELLE COSE / THE DIMENSION OF THINGS
La dimensione delle cose / The Dimension of Things is the first monographic catalogue dedicated to the Italian artist Alessandra Spranzi (Milan, 1962). Edited by Ilaria Gianni and published by Viaindustriae, the volume has been supported by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministero della Cultura as part of the Italian Council programme (13th edition, 2024).
Conceived as an in-depth reflection on an artistic practice developed over more than two decades, the volume explores the complexity of a body of work spanning photography, collage, found images, drawing, and video, tracing its evolution from its earliest articulations to the present. Developed in close collaboration with the artist and graphic designer Filippo Nostri, the editorial project unfolds through both chronological and thematic paths, featuring new contributions by Cecilia Canziani, Ilaria Gianni, Estelle Hoy, Quinn Latimer, and Simone Menegoi.
The project is supported by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministero della Cultura within the framework of the Italian Council programme (13th edition, 2024).

Alessandra Spranzi was born in Milan in 1962 where she still resides. She has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, the most recent located at p420 gallery, Bologna, National Gallery of Modern Art, Rome,Monica De Cardenas gallery, Zuoz, Bombas Gens Foundation, Valencia, Arcade gallery, London. Since 1997, she has created numerous publications and artist's books, including Eggs, Cutlery and Other Objects, In the Same Moment,, Returning Home,, The Bearded Woman.
