LAB | ANDREW IACOBUCCI: PETIT PANTHÉON

In occasion of Notte Bianca held on November 23th at Villa Medici, Andrew Iacobucci designed for IUNO Studio a workshop aimed at guiding children in the discovery of Villa Medici and its artistic heritage. The starting point of the workshop was the statue of the Goddess Roma, a symbol of Roman identity, totem and icon, a goddess born from Ulysses’ ship, reminiscent of Athena of Athens, the wise and warrior woman. The young participants were introduced to her story in order to establish a personal dialogue with the figure and reinterpret her iconography through the concept of the symbolic object. Using ecological plasticine and clay, each child created their own “Goddess Roma,” a sculpture that combined autobiographical elements with pure imagination.
