Alignments: workshop for spatial and temporal awareness
27 maggio 2023
Il workshop di Roberto Casti è dedicato all’ascolto, alla parola e alla scrittura, ed è ispirato da alcune letture condivise tra cui La parete di Marlen Haushofer e Come pensano le foreste di Eduardo Kohn.
In line with the artist's research, which focuses and sheds a light on the unnoticed, the marginal and what we normally consider irrelevant, participants will be invited to analyze and describe their surroundings (in this occasion, a park) from the recording and processing of data collected during their exploration. The aim of the workshop is a collective, shared, reconstruction of a landscape, forgoing conventional descriptions and disregarding sight, which is normally preponderant in such an exercise.
Sections of the workshop:
1. Collective reading of texts that can provide perspectivist examples.
2. Writing exercises, focusing on describing the surrounding landscape.
3. Collective sounds recording of the sites where the workshop takes place, starting point for an audio track stemming out of a collective project.
4. Translation of the perceived sounds in the space into drawings on the canvas.
The material produced during the workshop will feed into a publication signed by the artist and in a limited edition.
Where: Parco della Caffarella
Quando: 27 maggio, h. 11.00
