The Good Company is the first group exhibition hosted by IUNO, as well as the first one to use most of the rooms of the apartment.
The project explores the meanings and possible interpretations of the concept of company, starting from the notions of absence, presence, memory, and reflection.
Spread throughout the domestic space, the selected works reveal a relational dimension invoked by attributing vital characteristics to objects, in the act of giving, the practice of ritual, and the remembrance and building of alternate identities. These methods and languages seem adopted in order to bridge gaps, reset distances, and reduce boundaries.
Each work represents an attempt to establish a connection with an otherness — a presence one
turns to and within which one recognizes oneself, even as a degree of irreducible distance persists. Memories become crystallized, objects vivified, and anticipations prolong. The intangibility of relationships, their ephemeral and evanescent aspect, acquires a shape, a somewhat concrete form.
In this sense, the title of the exhibition describes the desire to investigate mechanisms that underlie human sociality, while also referring to the works themselves as remnants of memories, hopes, projections, releasing them from a matrix of objecthood and emphasizing their vitalistic aspect.
