ANDREA MARTINUCCI
From September 12th until October 8th, IUNO Residency hosted Andrea Martinucci (1991), a visual artist, divided between Rome and Milan, who carried on his work Turbomondi/movie script (working title), a project the artist initiated in 2020, conceived as a film script in constant evolution. In the past year, the script, handed over to a series of people selected by the artist himself, has been read, interpreted and modified. The result of this expe
rience is a book, a physical object that records a layer of voices, impressions, traces of existence.
Starting from this, Andrea Martinucci's residency was marked by workshops, moments of
reflection and direct interventions on the script itself.
The artist initially conducted Turbomondi/Exercises, a session of translation of the stratified script
in collaboration with curators Lisa Andreani and Maria Vittoria Di Sabatino, who have been
following and curating the project since its inception.
This intimate working phase represented a
moment of investigation into the potential of language and translation itself, understood as a real practice of writing and reworking content.
The second activity planned was The Memory of Thingsa two - day workshop developed in collaboration with curator Giulia Gaibisso.
This second workshop, opened to everyone, intended to reflect on themes such as personal memory, loss and perception of time conceived as potential tools not only for the observation of reality but also for the elaboration of unconscious contents.
Through a selection of personal objects, each participant had the opportunity to tell his or her story, giving space to the dimension of memory and the self, constructing a personal narrative released from the canons of a normed
presentation.
